Seattle’s hot new hotel openings

Seattle is THE city, with new hotels, new direct flights from the UK and a zest for life which resonates year round. Its position as a serious player in the city break market is further enhanced with the following hotels enhancements and openings for 2017 and future.

Hyatt Regency Lake Washington – opened 2017. Located on the shores of Lake Washington, Hyatt Regency Lake Washington at Seattle’s Southport perfectly combines the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest with modern facilities. Enjoy access to downtown Seattle, Mt. Rainer National Park, Bellevue and more. The property includes 347 spacious guestrooms and suites with unparalleled views.

W Bellevue – opened 2017. W Hotels, a brand of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, occupies the first 13 floors of a 41-story tower in Bellevue, five miles east of Seattle. The new modern and chic property, with 231 apartments, is in the Lincoln Square development – a thriving retail and entertainment district.

Loews Hotel 1000, Seattle – newly imagined – October 2017. Loews Hotel 1000 has completed an extensive refurbishment to provide visitors with Emerald Elegance Unscripted. In addition to elegantly refurbished rooms, visitors can enjoy a new All Water Seafood & Oyster Bar and the new Bell Lounge. Complimentary room upgrade at check-in, based on availability.

Hotel Theodore – opening 2017.  Portland-based Provenance Hotels will open the 151-room Hotel Theodore at 7th and Pine Street in downtown Seattle. Occupying the landmark 1929 building currently known and operating as the Roosevelt Hotel, the new hotel name is inspired by President Theodore Roosevelt and will showcase a collection of works that honour Seattle’s pioneering spirit.

Residence Inn by Marriot -– opening 2017. A Residence Inn by Marriott will open in downtown’s Denny Triangle neighbourhood, an area evolving into a hub for high-profile office, residential, retail and hotel projects. The 15-story, 302-room hotel, which is adjacent to the Washington State Convention Center, will include a conference centre, a fitness centre and three levels of parking. Each room will include a kitchenette and work area for extended-stay travellers.

Moxy (Marriot International) – opening 2017. Moxy hotels debuted in Italy in 2014. Designed to reinvent the traditional affordable hotel experience, the boutique hotel’s communal space is technologically friendly and embraces an innovative, industrial-chic design. The Moxy lobby is the centre of activity for the hotel and offers a social atmosphere and space for guests to congregate and enjoy a grab-and-go meal or beverage from the bar. The hotel will feature 147 tech-savvy guest rooms in the heart of the South Lake Union neighbourhood.

Mayflower Park Hotel – Celebrates 90th Anniversary 2017. From crystal chandeliers, to fresh flowers, to complimentary Wi-Fi and Wednesday wine receptions, the Mayflower Park Hotel offers the quintessential Seattle experience. Built in 1927, the beautifully renovated Mayflower Park Hotel was honoured to receive the prestigious 2017 Best Historic Hotel  (76-200 guestrooms) award from Historic Hotels of America.

Embassy Suites Hotel near CenturyLink Field – opening 2018. Phase 2 of Seattle’s mixed-use Stadium Place Project will showcase a 23-story Embassy Suites. Part of the Hilton hotel chain, Embassy hopes this property will become their flagship hotel in the USA. The 297-room hotel will sit atop a four-story podium containing parking and pedestrian-level retail space. The hotel will connect by a lofty atrium to a conference centre and a health club with a pool.

Hotel Clare Planned for downtown Seattle – opening 2018. Pineapple Hospitality plans the 208-guest room Hotel Clare at 2nd Avenue and Virginia near the Pike Place Market in downtown Seattle. The project will be developed by Columbia West and is scheduled for completion in 2018.

Fairmont Olympic Hotel – opening 2018. Seattle’s legendary luxury hotel will debut a new café in early 2018 providing guests with another taste of their culinary team’s offering.  The elegantly approachable café will offer a place for both coffee aficionados and explorers to enjoy.  With a rotating menu of both classic and comfort fare, guests and the local community will enjoy daily and weekly specials.  Learn more at

New Hyatt Regency will be Seattle’s Largest Hotel – opening 2018. Seattle developer R.C. Hedreen entered into a management agreement with Hyatt Hotels Corporation for its new headquarters hotel currently being developed in downtown Seattle. The 1,260-guest room Hyatt Regency Hotel will be Seattle’s largest and one of the largest on the West Coast when completed by mid-2018. The premium, full-service hotel will be two blocks north of the existing Washington State Convention Center and adjacent to a planned expansion of the convention center.
