Cascade Loop Scenic Highway begins just 28 miles north of Seattle. This 440 mile route winds through the Snohomish Valley over the Cascade Mountains via the Stevens Pass Greenway, to the Bavarian-themed Leavenworth, This is followed by the apple and farm food capital Wenatchee, along the Columbia River, to pristine Lake Chelan with its lakeshore wineries.  Looping round, the Western-themed Methow Valley leads to the dramatic wilds of North Cascades National Park and to flowers of the Skagit Valley coastal plain. Chic shops at La Conner lie en route to Fidalgo Island and Whidbey Scenic Isleway, needing only one short ferry crossing to complete the circle. Discover breath-taking views, sprawling wilderness, native wildlife and friendly communities.

Travellers love visiting the Cascade Loop because it is easily-accessible from Seattle and delivers a taste of many of the best things Washington State has to offer. After a couple of days sight-seeing in Seattle, hop in the car and explore! Plan to see sweeping mountain views, towering waterfalls, massive evergreen forests, volcanoes, alpine lakes, streams and rivers. Wildlife in the Cascade Mountains is abundant including deer, elk, black bears, mountain goats, and bighorn sheep. In the islands, whales, seals, porpoises and a multitude of birds and fowl can be spotted. Get out and hike, bike, kayak, horse ride, rock climb or scramble. All are catered for in this great outdoors adventure playground.

Photographers adore readily-available opportunities, capturing awe-inspiring images from the roadside, or by heading on foot into the wilderness on neatly-kept trails and pathways. Three to five days is an ideal time to experience the Loop in full or it can easily be combined with other Washington adventures.

Lodging is fully accessible all the way around the Loop whether rustic cabins, quaint Inns, bed & breakfasts, or immaculately-kept resorts or spas. Shopping and dining is also plentiful.
